Happy Birthday Jaxson

I remember it like it was yesterday. Happy yet scary at the same time. Jaxson Keith Theron Thomas was born into this world at 9:21 am. He was at least 5 weeks early (they weren't positive how far along I was after seeing him), he came into this world not able to breath well on his own. They immediately transported him to another hospital 15 miles away from me.

After a few weeks in the NICU, he came home to join us as a family. Today looking at him you would never know he was a preemie. He is such a happy go lucky little guy. We had a nice party for him last weekend. Rented a 30 foot inflatable water slide and the kids (and adults) had a blast! He has been obsessed with Toy Story, so when he opened his presents to reveal toy story toys he was so excited! Happy 3rd Birthday Buddy!

On to other things, Xavier had his first experience with the Emergency Room. Last Thursday I walked in to his daycare to pick him up and it was chaotic. The teachers were trying to reach me (I was having phone problems) and any of the other people on the emergency card. They couldn't reach any of us. Xavier had fallen onto the corner of the wood table and cut his head open. They advised me that the school nurse had taken a look at it and said I should take him in because it looked like he needed some stitches. OUCH. But was he crying?? Nope. The teacher said he cried less than a minute as the blood was gushing from his head. This is one of the many reasons we have nicknamed him Brutus. My mom and I took him to Mercy and waited a good 4 1/2 hours before the stitched him up and sent us on our way. Hes such a tough little kid. He has since had them removed and is left with a battle wound. I'm pretty sure that will not be his first or last encounter with stitches or casts or what not.

Summer has been good. Ive been able to spend some much needed time with Anthony and Eric. We have been swimming much of the summer. Eric can now swim on his own. No water wings or anything. He reminds me so much of Anthony when Anthony was that age. We have hit the birthday season in the Thomas house. Jaxsons is today, we have Alex and Xaviers on August 7, Erics on August 16, then we have a break until Anthony in October. Im gonna be a busy party planner for the next few months!!
